Technology Committee.
September
2001
The
newly-formed information technology (IT) committee of the Mt.
Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce kicked off today, September 12
at the Bryant Adult Education Center, Alexandria, Virginia.
In conjunction
with the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation, the new IT
Committee will strive to educate the citizenry served by these
organizations in technology-related issues.
"Our goal is also to help in the revitalization of
the Rt. 1 corridor by enhancing exposure of our community and
promoting events such as IT conferences and seminars that will
allow IT businesses to be introduced to this area and the potential
that this area offers" said Diana Margonie of Bryant Adult
Education Center, co-chairman of the committee.
According
to Stephen Gyamfi, President of GGC and Co-chairman of the committee,
"The formation of the
Mt. Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce IT Committee is critical
to educating chamber members, the community at large about IT-related
issues, as well as promoting the Richmond Highway corridor as a
conducive place for IT businesses."
